it’s all about passion
As far back as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated with performance vehicles of all types. As a child, I was excited to carry around my extensive collection of Hot Wheels cars everywhere I went. As a teenager, I had a six-foot poster of a Lamborghini Countach above my bed and drove a bright red 1988 TransAm GTA as a senior in high school. Throughout my childhood, instead of the Superbowl, my family always gathered in the living room and watched the Indianapolis 500 every year. Through my early exposure to motorsports, I wanted to be a race car driver very early on, but my parents were not too pleased about my career decision. Before long, life took over and it was a long expanse of time before I eventually revisited my lifelong dream of becoming a race car driver.
Advanced Training and Licensing
As an adult, I went to Florida and took a week-long advanced racing course at the Bertil Roos racing school in Palm Beach Florida. This led me to finally getting my open-wheel racing license. After investing over $10,000 on my licensing and other critical expenses along the way, I was lucky enough to try out for a race team and secured a spot. Through that vetting process, I tested my professionally-taught driving skills on “The Firm” track (Florida International Rally and Motorsports Park). Unfortunately, without a major sponsor, it became prohibitively expensive to continue chasing the ever-elusive dream of finding myself racing as a true profession. Racing, as a hobby, is one of the most expensive endeavors you could ever hope to get yourself into.
I have since applied all that I have learned into getting the absolute most of out my daily driving experiences on the local streets and highways of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metro area. I didn’t want to completely let go of my passion for driving, so after much thought and deliberation, Chicane Performance Driving became a new way to express my passion for driving and to share it with others.
